Managing Quantity Surveyor

We're looking for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Overhead Lines Commercial Team, supporting the successful commercial delivery of major infrastructure and utility projects.
You'll play a key role in maximising project profitability, managing commercial risk, and supporting project teams, while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities


  • Manage commercial reporting, forecasting, cost/value reconciliation and project profitability.

  • Monitor project risks and maintain effective commercial risk registers.

  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.

  • Support the management of compensation events, delays, variations and contractual claims.

  • Prepare commercial reports, records and documentation, ensuring deadlines are met.

  • Attend project and commercial meetings and provide effective commercial support to project teams.

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements and HSEQ policies.

About You


  • Qualified Quantity Surveyor with relevant commercial experience.

  • Experience working on infrastructure, utilities or major projects.

  • Knowledge of the Electrical Transmission / Overhead Lines sector is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4, contract law and commercial management.

  • Experience in subcontract management, valuations, variations and claims.

  • Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.

  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Commercially astute with a strong understanding of project costs and profitability.
