Site Coordinator/Site Manager - Structural Steel Construction

Location: Doel, Port of Antwerp, Belgium
Contract: Freelance | Until February 2027

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Coordinator / Construction Supervisor to support an industrial construction project in the Port of Antwerp.
The project involves the construction and installation of a multi-storey industrial facility housing specialist processing equipment, including gravity and magnetic separation systems.
The successful candidate will oversee daily site operations, ensuring all construction and installation activities are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

Responsabilities
Coordinate daily construction and installation activities on-site
Monitor HSE compliance, quality standards, and project schedules
Liaise with subcontractors, engineering teams, and the client
Participate in daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings
Supervise steel structure erection, lifting, and equipment installation
Coordinate electrical, piping, and mechanical installation contractors
Oversee quality inspections, as-built documentation, and punch lists
Support final handover, commissioning, and testing activities
Project Phase
Phase 1 | September - November 2026

• Supervision of structural steel construction, including floors, façades, and roofing.
• Coordination of steel fabrication and installation contractors.
• Monitoring site safety, construction quality, and progress.
• Oversight of specialist equipment integration.

Phase 2 | December 2026 - February 2027

• Coordination of electrical, mechanical, piping, and installation subcontractors.
• Management of daily site activities and contractor interfaces.
• Monitoring HSE, quality, and construction milestones.
• Supervision of final inspections, punch lists, documentation, and handover.
• Support during equipment testing and commissioning.

Requirements
Proven experience as a Site Coordinator, Construction Supervisor, or Site Manage
Background in industrial construction, heavy engineering, maritime, or infrastructure projects
Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and technical disciplines
Strong knowledge of construction site safety and HSE procedures
Hands-on, independent approach to site management
Good command of Dutch and English
Familiarity with Flemish construction regulations and the Port of Antwerp is advantageous
