A leading construction and engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join their team in Dublin, working on major data centre, engineering and mission-critical projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planner with strong Primavera P6 experience who wants to take ownership of project planning and work alongside senior project, commercial and construction teams on complex, high-value developments.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing and managing detailed programmes from pre-construction through to construction and commissioning, ensuring projects remain on programme and potential risks are identified and managed.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
  • Managing programmes across pre-construction, construction and commissioning.
  • Monitoring progress against approved baselines and key milestones.
  • Carrying out critical path, float and milestone analysis.
  • Monitoring site progress and productivity against programme.
  • Preparing progress reports, histograms and resource-loaded schedules.
  • Implementing and maintaining Earned Value Management (EVM) systems.
  • Supporting tender and pre-construction programme development.
  • Identifying programme risks, constraints and potential delays.
  • Providing planning information to support commercial reporting, variations and claims.
  • Supporting delay and disruption analysis.
  • Working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Commercial teams, engineers and subcontractors.
  • Leading planning and programme meetings.
  • Supporting workface planning and ensuring programmes accurately reflect site activities.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior planning staff where required.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Planner / Senior Planner with a strong background in large-scale construction or engineering projects.

You should have:

  • 5+ years' experience in construction planning.
  • Strong Primavera P6 experience.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Practical experience with Earned Value Management.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and project controls.
  • Experience developing programmes from drawings, specifications, BIM information and scopes of work.
  • Experience monitoring and auditing progress on live construction sites.
  • Knowledge of resource and cash-loaded programmes.
  • Strong understanding of critical path, float and delay analysis.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.

Experience within data centres, mission-critical, M&E or large-scale engineering projects would be highly advantageous.
