Project Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join an established specialist business operating within the construction and steelwork sector.

The business specialises in the design, fabrication and installation of highly engineered steelwork, staircases and balustrade systems, delivering projects ranging from one-off applications through to complex multi-site and multi-flight installations.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful management and delivery of allocated projects and contracts, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality and contractual standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• 
  Take responsibility for the project and contract management of allocated projects.
• 
  Manage projects from initial planning through to completion.
• 
  Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• 
  Manage the day-to-day activities of site staff and construction works.
• 
  Ensure site personnel comply with health and safety requirements and standard operating procedures.
• 
  Manage project programmes, contractual documentation, orders, bonds and warranties.
• 
  Ensure projects meet all quality, health and safety, environmental and contractual requirements.
• 
  Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• 
  Work closely with Site Supervisors, Project Surveyors, Commercial, Drawing Office and Production teams.
• 
  Attend site visits, client meetings and project meetings across the UK as required.
• 
  Monitor project progress and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• 
  Ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely and profitably.

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a Project Manager within the construction industry, ideally with experience of steelwork, structural steel, staircases or a related sector.
You will have:

• 
  Proven experience in a similar Project Manager role.
• 
  Construction industry experience is essential.
• 
  Good knowledge of the construction industry.
• 
  CSCS card is essential.
• 
  SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
• 
  Full UK Driving Licence.
• 
  Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• 
  Excellent project management and problem-solving abilities.
• 
  The ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
• 
  The ability to build effective working relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• 
  A collaborative and commercially aware approach.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
The role involves UK-wide travel, including regular site visits and meetings.
The successful candidate must be willing to travel and stay away from home for up to four nights per week when required.
WORKING HOURS
Monday to Thursday: 08:30 - 17:00
Friday: 08:30 - 14:30
Total working hours: 37.5 hours per week.
