Mechanical Fitters required for an engineering & manufacturing company based in Leicestershire.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you must have a strong background within mechanical assembly, precision fitting. You must be able to read and understand schematics. Previous experience of bench assembly & fitting. Ability to build machine sub-assemblies following engineering drawings & schematics.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Build new machinery from start to finish
• Build & put together machine sub-assemblies

• Precision assembly & fitting
• Detail precision fitting

• You will be working with bearings, shafts, gear boxes
• Motor and gearbox fitting
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, basic machine shop machinery (e.g. lathe, miller, pedestal drill, grinder)
• Ability to use measuring equipment (verniers, slip gauges, micrometers, etc)
• Ability to work to tight very tight tolerances
• Knowledge of pneumatics is essential
• Must be able to read engineering drawings and schematics

Qualifications:

• Engineering Apprenticeship
• Or any other relevant engineering qualifications
