Role overview

  • Prepare and cut specialist materials used in premium first-class and business-class aircraft interiors.
  • Support the manufacture of lightweight aircraft panels and interior components.
  • Work to high standards of quality, accuracy, safety and traceability.

Key responsibilities

  • Measure, mark and cut fabrics, foams, leather and other materials using templates, drawings and cutting plans.
  • Operate manual cutting tools and any automated cutting equipment.
  • Check materials for defects, damage, colour variation and correct batch information before cutting.
  • Ensure all parts are cut to the required dimensions and tolerances.
  • Label and organise cut components correctly for the next production process.
  • Complete job cards, material records and traceability documentation.
  • Use materials efficiently to minimise waste.
  • Inspect finished work and report any quality concerns.
  • Maintain tools and keep the cutting area clean, safe and organised.
  • Follow company procedures for health and safety, quality and foreign object debris prevention.

Skills and experience

  • Previous cutting experience in aerospace, automotive, upholstery, furniture, textiles or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Good measuring skills and the ability to work accurately with dimensions.
  • Ability to read drawings, templates and written work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
  • Able to achieve production targets without compromising quality.
  • Reliable, organised and willing to learn.
