As a CPCS Slinger Signaller, you will be required to work as part of a team on a structural bridge installation project located on the HS2 Align project.


We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable CPCS Slinger/Signaller to join our site team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely attaching, directing and guiding loads during lifting operations, working closely with crane operators and the wider construction team.
Safety, communication and attention to detail are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely sling, secure and guide loads in accordance with site procedures and lifting plans.
  • Direct crane and lifting operations using recognised signalling methods.
  • Select and inspect appropriate lifting accessories before use.
  • Ensure loads are correctly balanced, secured and within safe working limits.
  • Establish and maintain exclusion zones around lifting operations.
  • Communicate effectively with crane operators, supervisors and other site personnel.
  • Follow lifting plans, risk assessments, method statements and site rules.
  • Carry out pre-use checks of lifting accessories and report defects immediately.
  • Maintain a safe and organised working area.
  • Assist with the safe positioning and movement of materials around site.
  • Stop lifting operations where conditions become unsafe.
  • Comply with all company health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Valid CPCS Slinger/Signaller qualification/card.
  • Previous experience working as a Slinger/Signaller on construction or civil engineering sites.
  • Good understanding of lifting operations and lifting accessories.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow lifting plans and instructions accurately.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to direct lifting operations safely.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach to work.
  • Relevant site experience and current site safety qualifications where required.


Working Hours:
07:00am - 17:00pm (10 hours paid)
