About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Composite Laminator to join a leading aerospace manufacturing business in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a quality-driven production environment, supporting the manufacture of high-performance composite components using industry-standard processes and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare tooling for composite manufacturing, including cleaning tools and applying release agents.
  • Carry out material kitting and lay-up activities, ensuring the correct build sequence, orientation, and specification requirements are met.
  • Cut composite materials and prepare kits for production builds.
  • Apply knowledge of warp and weft orientation during lay-up processes.
  • Perform vacuum bagging operations and manufacture breather bag material kits.
  • Operate autoclaves, ovens, vacuum pumps, and associated equipment in line with approved engineering methods and processes.
  • Support cure operations while maintaining product quality and process compliance.
  • Follow quality procedures and manufacturing instructions to ensure regulatory and customer requirements are met.
  • Adhere to all company health and safety policies and safe working practices.
  • Attend daily shift briefings to review production targets, quality updates, and key business communications.
  • Identify, report, and escalate manufacturing, quality, or process issues to Team Leaders in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain a clean, organised work environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within composite laminating, composite manufacturing, or aerospace production.
  • Experience with pre-preg materials, lay-up, and vacuum bagging techniques.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing instructions and engineering processes.
  • Understanding of composite curing processes and associated equipment.
  • Knowledge of material shelf-life control would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
