Mane are currently recruiting for a Buyer to support our clients procurement team in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

About the Role

We are seeking a sharp, proactive Buyer to join a fast-moving, innovative team. In this role, you'll manage procurement of technical components, systems, and services that are critical to manufacturing and operational success. You'll work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure materials and products are delivered on time, at the right cost, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement of complex, multi-SKU technical products.

  • Source strategically across key commodities while optimising tail spend.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring performance, cost efficiency, and quality compliance.

  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract management.

  • Monitor supplier performance and delivery against agreed standards.

  • Identify opportunities for process and ERP improvements to enhance efficiency.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.


Who You Are

  • Degree (or NVQ Level 4 equivalent) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline.

  • Proven experience in strategic procurement, supplier management, and cost control.

  • Experience procuring complex, multi-component products in a manufacturing environment.

  • Confident negotiator with a track record of delivering value and driving cost savings.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Highly organised, results-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Desirable:

  • Professional body membership (e.g., CIPS, APICS).

  • Experience in composite or mechanical engineering procurement.

  • ERP system experience and process improvement expertise.

  • Knowledge of maritime or high-technology manufacturing sectors.
