The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a busy logistics team supporting a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Goole, East Yorkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, organisation and teamwork are essential. You'll play a vital role in ensuring materials are received, stored and supplied efficiently to support production operations.

The Role

As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement, storage and control of materials throughout the warehouse while supporting production with the timely supply of parts and components.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving and unloading incoming deliveries safely using forklift equipment and approved manual handling techniques.
  • Inspecting goods on arrival to ensure quality, quantity and accuracy against delivery documentation.
  • Booking stock into SAP and storing materials in the correct warehouse locations.
  • Maintaining accurate warehouse records and completing delivery documentation.
  • Picking, packing and issuing production kits to manufacturing teams.
  • Replenishing line-side stock to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Processing stock movements between warehouse locations using company systems.
  • Carrying out regular stock checks and inventory audits.
  • Performing routine inspections of warehouse racking and equipment, reporting any defects.
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse.
  • Providing a high level of service to internal customers.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve warehouse efficiency.
  • Working in accordance with all company Health & Safety and Quality procedures.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience working within a warehouse, stores or logistics environment.
  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence.
  • Practical forklift operating experience.
  • Good understanding of stock control and warehouse processes.
  • Basic IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
  • Positive, flexible attitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Commitment to working safely.

Desirable

  • Pivot Steer Forklift Truck experience.
  • Experience using SAP, Maximo or similar warehouse management systems.
  • Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and continuous improvement.
