Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with sales, project, and design teams to prepare, review, and analyse drawings and documentation for tender submissions.
  • Issue and manage enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers, selecting options based on project location and requirements.
  • Research and evaluate material, equipment, and labour costs to ensure accurate estimates and alignment with client expectations.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments, best practices, and emerging technologies in standby power generation, while continuously refining estimating processes for greater precision and efficiency.
  • Assess exchange rates and pricing models to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Highlight and communicate risks, opportunities, and scope considerations to the wider team; review tender documentation for discrepancies and submit RFIs to clients or design consultants for clarification.
  • Track and report project costs during construction, comparing actual versus estimated figures, and recommend improvements for future tenders.
  • Ensure all tender submissions comply with relevant Health and Safety legislation.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to junior estimators, ensuring work is completed effectively and to a high standard.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding estimates, progress updates, and related queries.
  • Research and evaluate potential subcontractors across EU markets to expand and strengthen the supply chain.


Qualification:

  • Over 2 years' experience in an estimating role.
  • Strong knowledge of project scope management (ProScope experience advantageous).
  • Electrical bias preferred.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
