Steel Fitter

We are currently seeking skilled and semi-skilled Steel Fitters to join our installation team. The successful candidates will be responsible for the installation of architectural metalwork and primary steel components across various construction sites. This role requires hands-on experience with mild steel, glass balustrade systems, and structural support steelwork.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Install architectural metalwork, including:
  • 
    Mild steel stair balustrades
  • 
    Glass stair balustrade systems
• 
  Install primary steel components, including:
  • 
    Duct supports
  • 
    Lift shaft riser steel
• 
  Read and interpret technical drawings and installation details
• 
  Measure, mark, and align steel components accurately
• 
  Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• 
  Ensure all installations are level, plumb, and compliant with specifications
• 
  Follow health and safety regulations at all times
• 
  Coordinate with site supervisors, contractors, and other trades
• 
  Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in architectural and structural steel installation
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• 
  Strong knowledge of mild steel fabrication and installation
• 
  Experience working with glass balustrade systems
• 
  Competent in welding (preferred but not essential)
• 
  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Valid CSCS card (or relevant site certification as required)

  Ability to work at heights when required
• 
  Physically fit and capable of manual handling
• 
  Strong attention to detail
• 
  Good communication skills
• 
  Reliable and punctual

Desirable (Not Essential)

• 
  IPAF / PASMA certification
• 
  First Aid certification
• 
  Previous experience working on commercial construction sites
  
  

Working Hours: 08:00am till 16:00pm
