Hours:
- Monday - Thursday: 7:00am - 6:00pm
- Friday: 7:00am - 12:00pm
Rate: £25.00 per hour (Umbrella or CIS, where applicable)
The Role
We are currently recruiting for experienced Slinger/Signallers to join a major National Grid project in Pembroke. This is a 12-week contract offering excellent hours and competitive rates, working on a live infrastructure site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely directing crane operations, attaching and securing loads, and ensuring all lifting activities are carried out in accordance with lifting plans, National Grid procedures, and health and safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out slinging and signalling duties for lifting operations.
- Direct crane movements safely using recognised hand signals and/or radio communication.
- Inspect lifting accessories before use and report any defects.
- Ensure loads are securely attached and lifted safely.
- Work closely with crane operators, supervisors, and site teams.
- Comply with all National Grid site rules and health & safety requirements.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safe working practices.
Essential Requirements
- Valid Slinger/Signaller qualification (CPCS or NPORS with CSCS logo).
- National Grid Persons training/accreditation.
- Previous experience working on National Grid or other high-voltage infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding of lifting operations and safe systems of work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Additional lifting or plant competencies.
- Relevant CSCS card.
- Experience working on substations or major utility, energy, or infrastructure projects.
