We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Planner to join a leading construction and engineering organisation delivering major projects within the data centre, mission-critical, advanced technology and life sciences sectors.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for planning a major project or portfolio of projects, managing programmes from pre-construction through construction and commissioning.

This is a key planning position requiring strong Primavera P6, Earned Value Management, programme controls and construction planning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6.
  • Manage planning activities across pre-construction, construction and commissioning.
  • Monitor project progress against approved baselines and key milestones.
  • Carry out critical path, float and delay analysis.
  • Monitor schedule performance and productivity.
  • Audit and validate progress on site.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports, histograms and programme information.
  • Develop resource and cash-loaded programmes.
  • Implement and maintain Earned Value Management systems.
  • Prepare tender programmes and schedules.
  • Lead planning and programme meetings with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
  • Support weekly workface planning.
  • Record and analyse delay and disruption.
  • Provide planning data to support payment applications, claims and contractual disputes.
  • Identify programme risks and recommend practical mitigation measures.
  • Support and mentor other members of the planning team where required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in construction planning on large-scale projects.
  • Strong Primavera P6 experience.
  • Good knowledge of Earned Value Management.
  • Advanced Excel capability.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
  • Ability to develop programmes from drawings, BIM models, specifications and scopes of work.
  • Experience with progress monitoring, reporting and programme controls.
  • Strong understanding of critical path and delay analysis.
  • Experience managing planning activities with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Data centre, mission-critical or large-scale M&E construction experience would be highly advantageous.
