Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor
- €85000 - €100000 per annum

- Permanent
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the commercial management of major electrical/MEP projects in Dublin.
This is not a passive, paperwork-focused QS position. You will be embedded within the project team and trusted to make commercial decisions, manage change, protect margins and ensure the financial performance of the project remains under control from tender through to final account.
The Role
As Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
- Building and managing project budgets, BOQs, reports and profit plans.
- Taking full commercial ownership from tender through to final account.
- Leading interim commercial meetings with clients and internal project teams.
- Reporting commercial performance clearly to the Project Manager and Senior Management.
- Managing subcontractor accounts, interim valuations, payments, retentions and final accounts.
- Preparing and issuing interim and final accounts.
- Ensuring remeasurements, dayworks, variations and contractual claims are accurately captured.
- Identifying commercial risks and escalating them appropriately.
- Working closely with the Planning Engineer to align programme progress with commercial performance.
- Costing and negotiating dayworks, site changes and variations.
- Maintaining detailed commercial records that stand up to scrutiny.
- Monitoring project costs against budgets and forecasts.
- Negotiating confidently with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Providing commercial guidance to project delivery teams.
- Prioritising workload effectively and meeting key commercial deadlines.
- Upholding strong information security practices in line with the company's ISMS.
About You
We are looking for a Senior QS who understands the commercial realities of complex electrical and MEP projects and is confident taking ownership without the need for micromanagement.
You will have proven experience within the electrical, MEP or construction sector, with a strong understanding of contracts, cost control, subcontract management, variations, remeasurement, dayworks and claims.
You will be commercially sharp, highly organised and confident communicating with clients, subcontractors, project teams and senior management. Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes responsibility, spots problems early and is comfortable making decisions that protect the commercial position of the project.
