We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join a major project in Galway. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS to take genuine ownership of the commercial performance of a complex electrical/MEP project within a high-specification environment.

This is a hands-on position where you will be embedded within the project team, working closely with the Project Manager, Planning Engineer, subcontractors and client representatives. • Identify, prepare and manage contractual claims, including labour and material escalations.
  • Price, negotiate and agree variations, site changes and dayworks.
  • Identify commercial risks early and implement appropriate mitigation.
  • Work closely with the Planning Engineer to align programme progress with commercial performance.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive commercial records.
  • Attend and lead commercial meetings with internal teams, clients and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate confidently with clients and their representatives.

About You

You will be an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in large-scale construction, electrical or MEP projects. Previous experience within pharmaceutical, life sciences or other highly regulated environments would be advantageous.

You will have strong knowledge of contracts, cost control, commercial reporting and subcontract management, alongside proven experience managing variations, claims, remeasurements and live project change.

We are looking for someone commercially astute, highly organised and confident working independently. You will need excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and address commercial issues before they become problems.
