Senior Electrical Estimator (Power & Renewables)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join a growing organisation in Dublin, working across major projects within the Power, Renewables and Energy Infrastructure sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious estimator looking to take the next step in their career, with the opportunity to work on technically complex projects including HV substations, wind farms and wider electrical infrastructure.

The Role

As Senior Electrical Estimator, you will take ownership of the estimating process from initial tender review through to submission and successful project handover. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, commercial and construction teams to develop accurate, competitive and commercially robust tenders.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the wider estimating function, support junior team members and progress towards a broader technical, commercial and leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates and accurate quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications and project scopes.
• Interpret electrical technical specifications and Employer's Requirements for HV substations, wind farms and renewable energy projects.
• Coordinate the tender process with engineering, procurement, commercial and operational teams.
• Prepare and submit tenders within agreed timescales.
• Develop technical submissions covering inclusions, exclusions, clarifications, assumptions and programmes.
• Manage requests for supplier and subcontractor quotations and assess submissions for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify project risks, technical challenges and potential commercial issues during the tender process.
• Manage multiple tenders simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Follow up submitted tenders and maintain accurate records of client feedback.
• Attend post-tender meetings and support tender negotiations and clarifications.
• Participate in project handovers, clearly communicating the estimate, scope, quotations and commercial assumptions to the construction team.
• Support continuous improvement across estimating procedures, systems and processes.
• Provide guidance and support to junior estimators and contribute to the development of the estimating team.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong background in the Power, Renewables, Energy or Electrical Infrastructure sectors.

You will ideally have:

• A third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience within construction or engineering, including experience in a senior estimating capacity.
• Proven experience estimating electrical projects.
• Experience within the Power and Renewables industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction, tendering and estimating processes.
• Experience with HV substations, wind farms or similar energy infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and tenders simultaneously.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider team.
• A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge, innovate and make commercially sound decisions.
• Previous experience mentoring or managing team members would be advantageous.
