Senior CNC Machinist

We are seeking an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to join a leading aerospace manufacturing business on a long term contract basis. You will be responsible for setting, programming and operating CNC milling and turning machines to manufacture precision components for aircraft interiors.

Hours: 39 hours per week (Monday to Thursday: 07:00 to 16:00 -Friday: 07:00 to 12:00)

Rate: £24.00 per hour PAYE

Contract Length: 6 Months+

Key Responsibilities

Set and operate a range of Fanuc controlled CNC milling and turning machines.

Produce low volume, high mix precision components to engineering specifications.

Create and edit basic CNC programmes using G and M code.

Prove out new and existing programmes.

Carry out self inspection using a range of measuring equipment.

Perform routine machine maintenance (TPM).

Requirements

City and Guilds CNC/NC qualification or at least 5 years' CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment.

Strong CNC milling and/or turning background.

Good knowledge of Fanuc controls.

Experience with machine tooling and inspection equipment.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Desirable

Knowledge of metallurgy.

Experience with Microsoft Office.

Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.

Experience delivering process improvement projects.
