Senior BMS Engineer

Are you a Senior BMS Engineer with experience delivering complex projects and looking for an opportunity in Milan?

We are working with a leading engineering and construction organisation delivering a major data centre project in Milan and are looking for an experienced BMS Engineer to take ownership of the technical delivery of the BMS package.

This is a hands-on senior role where you will be trusted to manage your engineering responsibilities, coordinate specialist subcontractors and ensure systems are delivered to the required technical, quality and safety standards.

The Role

You will take ownership of BMS engineering and design activities throughout the project lifecycle, from design and submittals through to testing, commissioning and handover.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing Tier 2 BMS engineering and design submittals.
• Producing and reviewing I/O data point lists, equipment schedules and schematics.
• Coordinating device and wiring layouts, including panel design and interlocks.
• Developing and reviewing functional specifications.
• Ensuring BMS designs align with mechanical equipment requirements and project specifications.
• Supporting off-site testing and witnessing testing activities.
• Managing engineering changes and ensuring all revisions are properly documented.
• Coordinating BMS subcontractors on a day-to-day basis.
• Monitoring programme, deliveries, engineering issues, quality and safety.
• Participating in project meetings, progress reviews and site walkdowns.
• Supporting W1, W2 and W3 inspections.
• Ensuring testing and commissioning activities comply with the project Quality Plan.
• Supporting system certification, demonstrations and client handover.
• Coordinating O&M manuals, record drawings and close-out documentation.

About You

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, organised and comfortable taking ownership of their work.

You should have:

• Strong experience in BMS engineering and controls.
• Previous experience delivering complex BMS projects.
• Ideally, experience within data centres, high-tech buildings, critical infrastructure or other technically demanding environments.
• Experience with BMS design, engineering documentation and technical submittals.
• Good knowledge of I/O schedules, equipment schedules, schematics and wiring layouts.
• Experience working with functional specifications and controls documentation.
• Previous experience managing or coordinating specialist BMS subcontractors.
• Experience supporting testing, commissioning and handover.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• A strong focus on quality, safety and technical compliance.
