Senior Authorised Person

Project Type: Data Centre Construction

Contract Length: 6 - 12 Months with view to extend

Day Rate (Gross): 750€ / 850€ (All in)

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the appointed Senior Authorised Person for 22kV switching operations on the project.
• Prepare, review, and implement switching schedules, isolation plans, and method statements.
• Issue and cancel permits to work, ensuring strict adherence to safety rules and operational procedures.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to schedule and execute high-voltage (HV) activities.
• Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, and project specifications.
• Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks for all personnel involved in HV operations.
• Maintain accurate records of switching operations, permits, and associated documentation.
• Support commissioning teams in the energisation and testing of electrical systems.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks in HV operations, escalating issues to project management where necessary.
• Contribute to planning activities and assist in developing operational procedures for ongoing and future projects.

Qualification:

• Recognised Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status with proven experience in high-voltage operations (minimum 22kV).
• Extensive experience in a similar role within data centre, industrial, or critical infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of HV safety rules, switching procedures, and permit systems.
• Ability to interpret and work from electrical drawings, plans, and technical documentation.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate teams in a high-pressure environment.
