SC Cleared Electrician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician with active SC Clearance to join our team in Helensburgh. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical installation, maintenance, and fault-finding within marine or defence environments, supporting critical projects to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electrical systems on marine vessels and associated infrastructure.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to project schedules.
• Work to strict HSE and quality standards, maintaining compliance with MOD, marine, and company procedures.
• Support inspections and commissioning activities as required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver work packages effectively and safely.

Requirements

• Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
• Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• Proven experience in electrical installation and maintenance, ideally within marine, shipbuilding, or defence environments.
• Strong understanding of HSE regulations and safe systems of work.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• Flexible and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills.

Desirable

• Experience working on Royal Navy or defence-related projects.
• Knowledge of marine systems and standards.
• COMPEX or additional electrical safety certifications.
