Quality Shift Leader

The Shift Leader oversees and coordinates all operational activities during their assigned shift, ensuring the delivery of inspection, rework, and quality confirmation activities in line with project requirements. They are responsible for resource allocation, communication with the customer (when required), and adherence to KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead shift operations to meet daily Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets.
Assign work to Team Leaders and confirm resource coverage per project.
Monitor productivity, rework levels, and quality trends during the shift.
Ensure all work instructions, control plans, and defect catalogues are correctly applied.
Conduct shift start briefings, issue escalation updates, and complete end-of-shift handovers.
Validate data collection accuracy and ensure QCC reports are submitted on time.
Support containment, rework, or sorting activities as required.
Coordinate with the Admin or Office team for documentation and system updates.
Approve minor decisions and escalate major issues (safety, quality, or personnel) to the Senior Shift Leader or Project Coordinator.
Leadership & People
Supervise Team Leaders, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
Drive engagement and ownership within the team.
Support employee coaching and capability building.
Conduct on-the-job training and provide corrective feedback when standards are not met.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Enforce adherence to site safety, COSHH, and environmental regulations.
Ensure compliance with customer and quality standards.
Review daily 5S performance and issue corrective actions.

Shift completion rate vs plan
Quality defect detection and reporting accuracy
Customer satisfaction / shift audit score
Zero Lost Time Incidents (LTI)
Employee attendance and handover completion
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in leading teams in an automotive or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of quality processes, rework, and inspection standards.
Capable of managing priorities and solving operational issues.
Clear communicator with strong organisational discipline.
Language: Dutch / English
Valid driver's licence (DL+) and access to a car.
Must be willing to rotate across 3 shifts.
