We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead our inspection and quality assurance functions within the aerospace sector. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining and improving the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role includes line management of the inspection team and acting as the management representative for all quality-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain quality control throughout the manufacturing process to meet business standards and customer requirements.
Manage calibration, testing, qualification, and related approvals.
Inspect and verify parts at all stages of production.
Maintain calibrated equipment and ensure readiness for manufacturing.
Train team members on VisualFAIR software and ensure compliance with customer/design authority requirements.
Create and approve FAIRs / LAIRs to specification.
Plan and conduct internal and external audits to ISO 9100 / AS9100 standards.
Serve as an approved signatory for releases and inspection-related quality processes.
Lead, develop, and manage the inspection team to drive performance and continuous improvement.
Identify training needs and provide development opportunities for the team.
Manage daily workloads, communication, and team discipline effectively.
Participate in management review and cross-department meetings to support business objectives.
Core Skills & Experience
Aerospace industry experience with strong knowledge of ISO 9100 / AS9100 standards and EASA requirements.
Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR/LAIR).
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Qualified to conduct internal and external audits.
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Excellent time management, initiative, and attention to detail.
Commitment to continuous improvement and skills development within the team.
Additional Information
16 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (based on a 4-day working week).
Christmas closure period.
Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 06:45-16:30 (37-hour week; 15-minute paid break, 30-minute unpaid lunch).
