Quality Inspector

This position is responsible for monitoring and verifying the quality of industrial material-handling and processing equipment throughout the manufacturing cycle. The role covers inspection of materials, sub-assemblies, and completed machines to ensure conformity with technical requirements, internal procedures, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Examine incoming materials and purchased components against technical requirements
Carry out quality checks during fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and final completion stages
Inspect structural and mechanical components such as frames, rotating parts, shafts, conveyors, and assemblies
Measure dimensions, tolerances, alignment, and surface conditions using precision inspection tools
Perform visual and dimensional assessment of welds to confirm workmanship and compliance
Ensure manufactured products meet applicable quality systems and contractual specifications
Record deviations, initiate non-conformance reports, and track corrective actions
Work closely with production, fabrication, and assembly teams to address quality-related issues
Maintain inspection records, reports, and quality documentation
Assist during internal reviews, client inspections, and external audits
Monitor correct use, storage, and calibration status of measuring equipment
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects and rework
Required Skills & Knowledge
Solid understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, and mechanical assembly operations
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
Hands-on experience with inspection instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators
Knowledge of inspection procedures, reporting methods, and quality documentation
Awareness of quality management system requirements (e.g., ISO-based systems)
Strong attention to detail with effective problem-solving abilities
Clear communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple departments
Qualifications
Technical diploma or trade certification in mechanical or related engineering field
Experience
2-5 years of experience in quality inspection within industrial equipment or heavy manufacturing environments
Certification or training in welding inspection is advantageous
Work Environment
Factory and shop-floor based role
Regular exposure to industrial equipment, fabrication, and welding operations
Interaction with internal teams, suppliers, and external inspectors
