Key Responsibilities:
Perform precision inspections using hand tools such as micrometers, height gauges, shadow graphs, and vision systems.
Support new product introduction by providing technical expertise and feedback.
Conduct manual and visual inspections, as well as final assembly checks.
Offer guidance and training to shop-floor inspectors.
Complete non-conformance reports and support root cause investigations.
Conduct First Article Inspections (AS9102) on components and assemblies.
Use CMM equipment (Zeiss Calypso and PC-DMIS) for inspection and program verification.
Collaborate with quality and production teams to improve processes and support continuous improvement.
Contribute to lean manufacturing and cost-saving initiatives.
Skills and Experience Required:
HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
Proven background in engineering or manufacturing environments, ideally aerospace.
Strong understanding of technical drawings and complex assemblies.
Experience with First Article Inspection reporting (Q-Pulse).
Skilled in manual inspection and measuring techniques.
Knowledge of CMM operation and program verification (Zeiss preferred).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Analytical thinker with experience in root cause analysis and problem solving.
Familiarity with Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred), PPAP, and APQP processes is an advantage.
