Project Quality Engineer
1 Year Contract - Inside IR35
We're looking for an experienced Project Quality Engineer to support the delivery of a major onshore HVDC transmission project under an EPC framework. You'll ensure all engineering, procurement, manufacturing, civil works, installation, and commissioning activities meet top-quality, safety, and regulatory standards, acting as a key link between contractors, suppliers, site teams, and project leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Project Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans, and procedures aligned with EPC requirements.
- Oversee quality assurance & control across converter stations, HV equipment, civil/mechanical works, and HVDC systems.
- Conduct supplier/subcontractor audits and manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Lead Lessons Learned programs, embedding improvements from audits, NCRs, and commissioning findings.
- Support FAT, SAT, inspections, and commissioning quality activities, ensuring traceable documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to embed quality into design, supply, and execution.
- Monitor and report quality KPIs and risks, driving continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in quality engineering on complex, safety-critical projects.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, EPC quality frameworks, and HVDC/IEC standards.
- Experienced in NCR management, root cause analysis, supplier oversight, and lessons learned processes.
- Strong stakeholder influence and ability to embed continuous improvement.
