We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a major data centre and mission-critical project environment in Clonee, Ireland.
This is a senior project delivery position, responsible for managing multiple projects and upgrade works across complex data centre environments. The role will oversee projects from planning and execution through to completion, with responsibility for programme, cost, safety, quality, subcontractors, vendors and client relationships.
The successful candidate will require strong project management experience combined with a detailed understanding of critical M&E systems within a data centre environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects safely, on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain project execution plans, programmes and milestones.
- Manage project budgets, costs and commercial performance.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports covering programme, costs and project status.
- Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring resources and performance remain aligned with project requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality and compliance.
- Manage project risks, technical issues, delays and escalations.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
- Ensure contractual SLAs, KPIs and Scope of Works requirements are achieved.
- Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with appropriate health and safety requirements, RAMS, risk assessments and permitting procedures.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and resolve technical and delivery issues.
- Manage significant project events and technical escalations where required.
Technical Background
You will need a strong understanding of data centre critical infrastructure, including:
Electrical: Transformers, generators, fuel systems, switchgear, UPS systems, battery banks, ATS/STS units and PDU systems.
Mechanical: AHUs, chilled water systems and associated cooling infrastructure.
Life Safety: Fire alarm and fire suppression systems, including pre-action sprinkler systems.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' Project Management experience.
- Professional project management qualification and/or relevant technical/trade qualification.
- Proven experience delivering projects within a data centre, critical infrastructure or complex M&E environment.
- Strong understanding of data centre mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience delivering data centre upgrade and modification projects.
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors and external service providers.
- Strong commercial and budget management experience.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety risk assessments and control measures.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and against demanding deadlines.
- Willingness to travel and work internationally when required.
