Production Planner

The successful candidate will create executable production plans that consider capacity, material availability and customer delivery requirements, while also supporting continuous improvement across planning processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritise materials and issues across Goods In, Stores, Dispatch, Purchasing and Engineering
  • Liaise with Purchasing to confirm material availability and quality of supply
  • Control material traceability throughout the shop floor
  • Raise, manage and close Works Orders in line with MRP
  • Review and action MRP exception messages
  • Work closely with Operations to support sales forecasting and site planning
  • Maintain MRP parameters in line with company policies
  • Communicate proactively with Customer Services regarding updates, issues and resolutions
  • Work within a cross-functional team to meet customer and delivery targets
  • Support regulated manufacturing traceability requirements, such as aerospace or medical manufacturing

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a production planning, materials planning, manufacturing planning or supply chain planning role
  • Strong working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems
  • Experience raising, managing and closing Works Orders
  • Good understanding of material availability, WIP, inventory control and production schedules
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, Stores and Customer Services
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment would be highly beneficial

  • Inventory reduction and WIP / obsolescence control
  • Customer on-time delivery
  • Sales and operational support metrics
