Job Title: OHL Engineer

Contract Duration: Long Term - Inside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Overhead Line (OHL) Engineer with a strong background in high-voltage transmission systems, specifically 400kV infrastructure. You will be responsible for the design, assessment, and construction support of overhead line projects across the UK.

As OHL Engineer your day to day duties will include the below:

• Design and engineering of 400kV overhead line systems, including route planning, structure selection, and conductor configuration
• Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards (e.g. ENA TS, National Grid standards)
• Perform structural analysis and loading calculations for towers and line components
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and surveys as required
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and other engineering disciplines
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and project quality standards

As OHL Engineer the below is essential

• Proven experience as an OHL Engineer on transmission projects (132kV-400kV)
• Strong understanding of National Grid and other UK DNO/TO standards
• Proficient with design software (e.g. PLS-CADD, TOWER, AutoCAD)
• Relevant engineering degree (e.g. Electrical, Civil, Structural)
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IET, ICE) is desirable
• Willingness to travel to site locations as required
