Offshore Termination & Joint Inspector
Key Responsibilities
Act as the client representative for the inspection, quality assurance, and verification of cable jointing, termination, and testing activities on-site.
Ensure all installation, testing, and inspection activities comply with project technical requirements, applicable industry standards, and relevant IEC regulations.
Inspect high-voltage cable (HVC) and fibre optic cable (FOC) systems, including hang-off arrangements and terminations at offshore substations, foundations, and associated offshore assets.
Perform QA/QC inspections throughout cable termination and jointing operations.
Witness and verify cable testing activities, including VLF, sheath testing, HVRT, OTDR, and any additional electrical or fibre optic testing required by the project.
Review termination and testing documentation, procedures, and work instructions to ensure alignment with approved Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) prior to campaign execution.
Enforce project quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) requirements on-site.
Prepare and submit Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) and maintain project progress tracking records.
Verify that approved Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems are in place before commencement of testing and termination activities.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with construction, offshore logistics, cable installation, offshore substation, foundation, and wind turbine teams as required.
Develop, review, and update inspection checklists and digital inspection records for offshore testing and termination activities.
Ensure testing and termination activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and within project schedules, including verification of calibrated testing equipment availability.
Monitor weather conditions and assess suitability of operational windows for offshore activities.
Provide comprehensive shift handovers and ensure continuity between inspection teams.
Support Management of Change (MoC) processes where required.
Manage punch lists, handover documentation, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and lessons learned processes, ensuring timely communication of defects, damages, or non-conformities to project stakeholders.
Review and approve as-built documentation related to cable termination and testing activities.
Participate in project meetings with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers.
Fibre optic cable termination experience is highly desirable.

Valid GWO certifications
Offshore Medical Certificate
Full First Aid qualification
Firefighting training
Sea Survival and Transfer training
Working at Heights, Climbing & Rescue certification
Confined Space training
Helicopter Transfer (HUET/BOSIET/FOET as applicable)
NFPA 70E training (where applicable)
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
HV/MV cable jointing and termination training and/or practical experience
VLF testing experience or certification
OTDR testing experience or certification
Safe Working in High Voltage Substation Environments
Safe Working in Low Voltage Substation Environments
Knowledge of cable ladder and cleating systems
Experience with subsea cable hang-off systems
Understanding of earthing and bonding requirements for cable systems
Familiarity with CDM Regulations 2015 (where applicable)
Experience using digital inspection systems, project quality tools, and offshore construction procedures
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of high-voltage and medium-voltage cable systems.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, procedures, standards, and specifications.
Excellent inspection, reporting, and quality assurance skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities in offshore environments.
