We are recruiting for an experienced NDT Technician Level 2 to join a leading aerospace engineering organisation supporting military and specialist aircraft operations.

Working within the Engineering team, you will support the NDT Level 3 Engineer and Aircraft Maintenance Manager in delivering safe, compliant and high-quality Non-Destructive Testing across Part-145 aircraft maintenance activities. The role offers the opportunity to work on advanced aircraft, both at base and occasionally at remote operating locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Non-Destructive Testing on aircraft and aircraft components in accordance with approved maintenance manuals and company procedures.
  • Perform Eddy Current (EC) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspections to regulatory standards.
  • Support aircraft maintenance operations both at the main site and at remote locations when required.
  • Ensure all NDT documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and support occurrence reporting through a Just Culture approach.
  • Coordinate with aircraft maintenance teams to ensure work is completed efficiently and to schedule.
  • Assist the NDT Level 3 Engineer with daily workload planning and prioritisation.
  • Deputise for the NDT Level 3 Engineer when required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering department.
  • Maintain clean, organised work areas and ensure company procedures are followed at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as an NDT Technician within an aerospace or aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Certified to PCN/AERO, BS EN ISO 9712 or EN4179 Level 2 in:
    • Eddy Current Testing (EC)
    • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Strong understanding of aerospace NDT techniques and inspection processes.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office (Aero-Trac experience advantageous).
  • Aerospace engineering or aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain UK security clearance.

Desirable Experience

  • Level 2 qualifications in:
    • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
    • Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI)
    • Radiography Testing (RT)
  • Dassault NDT training or specialist aircraft manufacturer training.
  • Aerospace engineering apprenticeship or HM Forces equivalent.
  • Experience working within continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing environments.
  • Basic understanding of project management and financial awareness.
