Build the Difference. Shape Performance. Accelerate Innovation.
In Formula 1, performance isn't just designed-it's built, tested, refined, and pushed to the limit. This is where you come in.
We are looking for a highly skilled Model Maker to play a critical role in the development of cutting-edge aerodynamic models. Your work will directly influence wind tunnel testing and, ultimately, on-track performance.
Working at the intersection of precision engineering and rapid innovation, you will transform complex designs into high-quality physical components that help unlock performance gains measured in milliseconds.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Precision Model Construction
- Assemble and prepare high-performance wind tunnel models and components in line with the aerodynamic development programme.
- Deliver exceptional quality parts and assemblies, ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and performance.
- Take ownership of day-to-day model shop activities, executing tasks with precision and a strong attention to detail.
Aerodynamic Development Support
- Collaborate closely with Aerodynamicists, Model Design, Mechanical Design, and Additive Manufacturing teams to deliver components for wind tunnel testing.
- Support the continuous evolution of the wind tunnel programme, ensuring parts are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
- Work with internal teams to coordinate testing schedules and priorities, ensuring seamless execution.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the exploration of new technologies, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and build quality.
- Bring a proactive, solution-focused mindset to every challenge.
Planning & Delivery
- Manage your workload to meet tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Ensure all components are delivered on time and ready for test, without compromising quality.
- Maintain clear and timely communication on progress, risks, and deliverables.
Team Contribution & Culture
- Build strong working relationships across teams, contributing to a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Promote a positive, professional attitude, supporting both team success and continuous improvement.
- Be flexible in your approach, including shift work and weekend support when required to meet programme demands.
What You Bring
Technical Expertise
- Experience in automotive or high-performance engineering (F1 experience highly desirable).
- Strong understanding of precision manufacturing and model assembly techniques.
- Good working knowledge of mechanical systems and component integration.
Professional Skills
- Ability to work independently and scope tasks with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable operating under pressure and tight timelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality output.
Mindset
- Hands-on, proactive, and driven by results.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing demands and fast-paced environments.
- A team player with a "can-do" attitude and a focus on continuous improvement.
Why This Role Stands Out
Every component you build contributes directly to performance on track. Your craftsmanship, precision, and speed will play a vital role in shaping aerodynamic gains at the highest level of motorsport.
If you take pride in building world-class components and want to see your work translated into real performance, this is your opportunity.
