Model Maker - Wind Tunnel Testing (Motorsport/F1)

Are you passionate about motorsport innovation and precision engineering? Do you want to play a hands-on role in shaping the future of race-winning performance? We're looking for a skilled Model Maker to join our cutting-edge Wind Tunnel team - where every detail you create could make the difference on track.

What you'll be doing

You'll be at the heart of aerodynamic development, working closely with some of the most talented minds in motorsport. Your role will include:

  • Collaborating with Model Shop, Production, Design and Aero Development teams to build scale models for aerodynamic testing.

  • Translating technical drawings and instructions into highly accurate physical components.

  • Preparing and finishing rapid-prototype parts, including surface finishing, painting and installation of inserts.

  • Using a wide range of hand tools, machine tools and composite techniques to produce and refine parts.

  • Assembling complex scale models ready for testing in the wind tunnel.

  • Supporting calibration and quality control using electronic, mechanical and computerised equipment.

  • Taking an active role in wind tunnel testing shifts, directly influencing the performance of our race cars.

What we're looking for

We're seeking a detail-driven problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in precision. Ideally, you will bring:

  • Automotive experience, preferably in Motorsport or F1.

  • Previous model-making experience, ideally with wind tunnel scale models.

  • Strong technical background with the ability to interpret technical drawings and instructions.

  • Competence in computer use (Microsoft Office) and ideally CAD software (such as CATIA) for visualisation purposes.

  • A commitment to accuracy, precision and attention to detail.

  • A collaborative mindset, flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a team environment.

  • Availability to work shift patterns within a wind tunnel environment.

  • Basic English language skills (spoken and written).

Why join us?

This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the performance of a top-level motorsport programme. You'll be working in an environment where innovation, speed and accuracy are everything - and where your craftsmanship will be tested on the world stage. If you're motivated by engineering excellence and want to see your work make a measurable impact on track, this role will put you right at the centre of the action.
