Model Maker - Wind Tunnel Operations

We are looking for an experienced Model Maker to join a Formula 1 team, working within their Aerodynamics department and supporting their wind tunnel development and testing programme.

This is a hands-on position working closely with Model Makers, Aerodynamicists and Designers, supporting the build, preparation and development of wind tunnel models alongside day-to-day model shop and gantry operations.

The Role

• Build, prepare and develop wind tunnel models and components
• Support gantry operations and wind tunnel testing
• Work closely with Aerodynamicists and Designers to deliver model changes and developments
• Identify and resolve technical or build issues
• Support improvements across model shop processes and procedures
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members

Requirements

• Strong Model Making experience within Formula 1, motorsport, automotive or high-performance engineering
• Experience with wind tunnel models and/or gantry operations
• Strong knowledge of Leica systems and 3D scanning
• Experience with PI Toolbox and Diablo procedures
• Flexibility to work shifts
