Project Start-Up Phase

  • Lead the transition from estimating to delivery by arranging and chairing the internal project handover meeting.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Director to determine project staffing requirements and ensure appropriate resource allocation.
  • Validate the project scope and develop key project controls, including the business plan, cost-control systems, cash-flow forecasts, and billable schedules.
  • Produce core project documentation such as the procurement plan, design/drawing schedule, construction programme, S-curves, and manpower histograms.
  • Liaise with the client and design teams to resolve procurement and engineering questions prior to site mobilisation.
  • Mobilise subcontractors, suppliers, and labour in line with the business plan and project schedule.

Project Running Phase

  • Oversee the effective day-to-day delivery of all site activities, ensuring progress is aligned with programme, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Ensure the project is delivered on time, within cost parameters, and in compliance with specifications and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor material deliveries, engineering outputs, and quality performance, taking corrective actions where necessary.
  • Lead regular client meetings and hold weekly progress meetings with subcontractors, ensuring safety, training, and coordination topics are addressed.
  • Conduct monthly internal team meetings to track progress against project milestones.
  • Measure productivity weekly and maintain accurate progress control documentation.
  • Submit monthly reports to the Operations Director to manage commercial exposure and project risk.
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the MEP installation, ensuring subcontractors and internal teams deliver in accordance with project specifications.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and welfare requirements throughout project execution.

Project Completion Phase

  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover activities, ensuring all requirements are defined, scheduled, and executed before formal commissioning begins.
  • Ensure all systems are demonstrated to the client and relevant authorities (e.g., Building Control) in line with project requirements.
  • Work with the Quantity Surveyor to prepare, submit, and agree the final account in line with commercial objectives.
  • Produce a detailed project close-out report for the Operations Director, covering commercial, technical, and delivery performance.
  • Maintain communication with the client throughout the warranty/defects period and manage retention processes.
  • Complete all post-project duties, including site clearance, document archiving, financial closure, lessons-learned reviews, and secure disposal of confidential information.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • HND in Construction, Building Services, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale Mechanical & Electrical projects from start-up through to handover.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret contract requirements and manage commercial risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and lead Health, Safety, and Environmental responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
