Mechanical Technician

Key Responsibilities
Strip down incoming repair units and clean components to survey-ready condition
Diagnose faults and determine failure modes of mechanical/electro-mechanical assemblies
Write strip/survey reports, documenting failure modes, component condition, and required replacement parts
Conduct mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly using technical drawings, SOPs, and/or CMMs
Use hand and power tools, including torque drivers, micrometers, verniers, crimpers, spanners, and electric screwdrivers
Upgrade and repair assemblies to meet specifications and quality standards
Perform inspections and functionality tests on repaired components
Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical faults
Complete all relevant documentation accurately
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area
Support Continuous Improvement and 5S activities
Assist with training and support other departments when needed
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in mechanical repair, assembly, or maintenance roles
Familiarity with fans, motors, heaters, or similar components preferred
Ability to interpret technical drawings, CMMs, and documentation
Confident using workshop tools and inspection equipment
Excellent attention to detail and fault-finding skills
Methodical, hands-on approach with strong time management
Some electrical assembly experience beneficial (soldering, crimping)
Able to work independently or as part of a team
Comfortable using basic IT systems
