Mechanical Project Engineer

Responsible for day-to-day mechanical engineering activities on a major construction project, including coordination, design review, and proactive issue resolution to ensure efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage design documents and drawings.
• Participate in project handover and technical meetings.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to optimise cost and quality.
• Produce and review coordinated drawings across multiple disciplines.
• Ensure design specifications and submittals are compliant and buildable.
• Support progress reporting and track project performance.
• Manage procurement activities including purchase orders and deliveries.
• Raise and respond to RFIs to resolve design queries.
• Monitor commercial aspects such as variations and take-offs.
• Collaborate with internal teams, designers, and contractors to resolve issues.
• Maintain document control systems.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
• Coordinate subcontractors and oversee installation activities.
• Conduct inspections, snagging, and system walkdowns.
• Manage testing and commissioning documentation (test packs).
• Ensure compliance with information security and data protection requirements.
