Mechanical Fitter

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Faslane. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment on marine vessels and within dockyard facilities. This position requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the capability to lead and support small teams on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, components, and assemblies.

• Carry out fitting, alignment, and testing of mechanical equipment and systems.

• Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.

• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety regulations.

• Support and lead small teams of fitters and apprentices where required.

• Liaise with engineers, supervisors, and project managers to ensure project targets are met.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation of completed work.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally within a marine or defence environment.

• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.

• Full UK driving licence (essential).

• Marine or dockyard experience (desirable).

• Experience leading or mentoring small teams.

• Must hold SC Clearance

Location: Faslane, Scotland
Hours: Minimum 50 hours per week
Rate: £39 per hour + Overtime available
Clearance: SC Clearance required
