Mechanical Fitter

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical / Marine Fitter to join our team on a contracting basis. The role will involve working on a variety of mechanical systems, equipment, and components within a marine/defence environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out fitting, assembly, maintenance, and repair of marine/mechanical systems.

• Work from engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.

• Undertake fault finding and diagnostics on a range of mechanical equipment.

• Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

• Support testing and commissioning activities where required.

• Comply with all site safety, security, and quality procedures.

Requirements:

• SC Clearance (active) - essential.

• Proven experience as a Mechanical or Marine Fitter, ideally within a defence or shipbuilding environment.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and associated equipment.

• Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.

Contract Details:

• 6-month initial contract (possible extension).

• £32 per hour CIS.

• Immediate start available for suitable candidates.
