We are seeking an experienced Lifting Supervisor to oversee and coordinate lifting operations on a major cement plant construction project in Sheerness. The successful candidate will ensure all lifting activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with current legislation, company procedures, and site requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and direct all lifting operations on site, ensuring compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and site-specific lifting plans.
Work closely with appointed persons, crane operators, slinger/signallers, and site management to plan and execute lifts safely.
Ensure lifting equipment is inspected, certified, and fit for purpose before use.
Conduct pre-lift briefings and toolbox talks with lifting teams.
Monitor lifting operations to ensure safe working practices are followed at all times.
Maintain accurate records of lifting activities, permits, and equipment checks.
Report and investigate any near misses, incidents, or equipment defects.
Support site management in enforcing health, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements
CPCS or NPORS Lifting Supervisor qualification (essential).
Proven experience supervising lifting operations on large-scale construction or industrial projects.
Strong knowledge of lifting plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
Familiarity with cranes, telehandlers, and other heavy lifting equipment.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
Commitment to health & safety best practices.
Valid CSCS/CCNSG card (preferred).
