We are seeking a qualified and experienced CPCS Lift Supervisor to oversee and coordinate lifting operations on site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all lifting activities are planned, supervised, and executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with relevant legislation and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise all lifting operations in accordance with the approved lift plan and risk assessments.
Ensure all lifting activities comply with LOLER, BS 7121, and company health & safety policies.
Brief and coordinate crane operators, slinger/signallers, and other lifting personnel prior to operations.
Verify that all lifting equipment and accessories are certified, inspected, and fit for purpose.
Monitor site conditions (ground stability, weather, obstructions, proximity hazards) and halt operations if unsafe conditions arise.
Maintain clear communication with the crane operator and lifting team at all times.
Ensure exclusion zones and safe systems of work are implemented and maintained.
Liaise with site management, contractors, and appointed persons regarding lifting activities.
Complete relevant documentation, including lift plans, permits, and inspection records.
Promote a strong safety culture and intervene where unsafe practices are observed.
Requirements
Valid CPCS Lift Supervisor (A62) card (essential).
Previous experience supervising lifting operations on construction sites.
Strong knowledge of lifting regulations including LOLER and BS 7121.
Ability to read and interpret lift plans and method statements.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Good understanding of site health & safety requirements.
CSCS card (if required by site).
