Lead Electrical Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join a leading international engineering organisation on a major data centre project in Milan, Italy.

This is a senior technical leadership role with genuine ownership of the electrical engineering scope, covering design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.

The Role

You'll be responsible for:

• Leading electrical engineering delivery across the project
• Managing and coordinating the electrical engineering team
• Reviewing electrical designs and identifying technical gaps and risks
• Working across LV and MV electrical systems
• Validating cable sizing and technical assessments
• Preparing and managing electrical technical submittals
• Coordinating design with BIM and construction teams
• Supporting electrical equipment procurement and vendor management
• Providing technical support throughout installation
• Conducting electrical system walkdowns
• Managing specialist vendors during commissioning
• Coordinating testing, commissioning and system handover
• Compiling test packs, FTOPs and O&M documentation
• Supporting client training
• Managing technical interfaces with clients, designers, contractors and suppliers
• Supporting programme, QA and EHS requirements
• Mentoring and developing project and graduate engineers

We're Looking For

You'll ideally have:

• 7+ years' electrical project engineering experience
• Degree or equivalent in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
• Strong LV/MV experience
• Major construction project experience
• Data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or other mission-critical experience
• Strong knowledge of electrical regulations and design standards
• Experience with ETCI, BS 7671, EN and IEC standards
• Strong technical submittal and design review experience
• Experience with electrical installation, testing and commissioning
• Strong client, consultant, vendor and contractor management experience
• Excellent technical problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Experience mentoring and developing engineers

Experience with Amtech, DIALux, AutoCAD 2D, Adobe Pro and MS Office would be advantageous.
