Job Title: Fabricator - Plater

What You'll Be Doing

• Interpreting engineering drawings
• Marking-off materials
• Plate preparation using various methods (oxy-fuel gas cutting, hand grinding)
• Assembling ship structures including shell, decks, bulkheads, frames, and longitudinals
• Fitting, fairing, and tack welding steelwork using fairing aids
• Fabricating ship components such as seats, ladders, false flooring, and panels
• Outfitting ship items including hatches, watertight doors, equipment seats, and false flooring
• Forming material using machine tools (rollers, flanging machines, guillotines, croppers, mechanical saws)

Skills and Experience Required

• Modern Apprenticeship / Trade Papers (SVQ Level 3 or equivalent required)
• Proven experience in fabrication
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Ability to tack weld
• Oxy-fuel and/or plasma cutting experience
• Strong understanding of SHE principles and risk assessments
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at height
• Relevant safety certifications (SHE induction, working at height, risk assessment, etc.)
• Background in a major construction or manufacturing environment

The team operates a variety of shift patterns, including day, back, night, and weekend shifts.
