We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join a major mission-critical data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany.

This is a senior, site-based opportunity for an electrical professional with strong experience delivering complex, high-value electrical projects. You will take ownership of the electrical scope from construction and engineering through to testing, commissioning and final handover.

Working alongside the wider project team, you will manage electrical engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and specialist suppliers while maintaining close relationships with the client, consultants and main contractor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the electrical package.
  • Lead electrical construction and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage programme, resources, costs, quality and delivery performance.
  • Coordinate with the client, consultants, main contractor and specialist subcontractors.
  • Oversee installation of MV/LV switchgear, UPS systems, generators, STS, busbar, PDUs, EPMS/BMS interfaces, earthing and critical power distribution.
  • Review design and IFC information, coordinate RFIs and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop and manage electrical construction programmes in conjunction with the planning team.
  • Monitor progress against milestones and implement recovery plans where required.
  • Manage variations, valuations, procurement and commercial change control.
  • Ensure electrical works comply with project specifications, German regulations and relevant industry standards.
  • Lead QA/QC activities, RAMS, permits, LOTO/COHE and electrical safety requirements.
  • Coordinate FAT, SAT, pre-functional testing, energisation and integrated systems testing.
  • Drive snagging, punch-list closure and readiness for handover.
  • Ensure O&M manuals, as-builts, QA documentation and safety files are completed.
  • Manage electrical interfaces with mechanical, CSA, ICT, fire protection and other project disciplines.
  • Support procurement and supply-chain management, particularly around long-lead electrical equipment.
  • Provide accurate progress, commercial, risk and performance reporting to senior project stakeholders.

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced Electrical Project Manager with a proven track record delivering large-scale electrical installation projects.

You will ideally have a background within data centres, mission-critical environments, advanced technology, pharmaceutical, industrial or other complex electrical infrastructure projects.

You should be confident managing large teams and subcontractors, coordinating multiple project interfaces and taking ownership of delivery from construction through commissioning.

Essential Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering qualification or recognised electrical trade background.
  • 7+ years' experience delivering major electrical installation projects.
  • Strong experience with MV/LV power distribution and critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience with UPS, generators, switchgear and associated power distribution systems.
  • Proven experience managing electrical testing and commissioning.
  • Strong programme, commercial and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong understanding of electrical health, safety and quality requirements.
  • Fluent English communication skills.

Desirable

  • Previous hyperscale or mission-critical data centre experience.
  • Knowledge of EN 50600 and data centre electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience working within the German construction environment.
  • Knowledge of DIN VDE 0100 / IEC 60364, EN/IEC 61439 and DIN 14675.
  • Understanding of VOB/B and HOAI.
  • Experience with BIM/CDE and ISO 19650 workflows.
  • Knowledge of VDE-AR-N 4110/4120 and grid connection requirements.
  • Experience with arc-flash assessments, switching procedures and energisation plans.
