Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety and quality culture on site, implementing 'Right First Time' practices.
  • Manage all aspects of site safety in coordination with the Project Manager and the Health & Safety Advisor, including setup and close-out of the project safety file.
  • Ensure installation works comply with project specifications and quality assurance plans, including benchmarking and inspection protocols.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed, constructible project schedule in collaboration with the project planner.
  • Coordinate engineering activities to align with schedule requirements, ensuring that procurement and design do not hinder progress.
  • Lead day-to-day site electrical operations, ensuring all activities align with project goals.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, tracking progress against schedule and managing resource levels. Conduct weekly meetings and ensure clear communication channels are maintained.
  • Attend and contribute to project meetings, including internal reviews, planning sessions, coordination meetings, and client handovers.
  • Ensure timely close-out of all project deliverables, including final accounts, O&M manuals, punch lists, safety and QA files, material returns, and final project reports.
  • Prepare and issue internal weekly progress reports summarising completion percentages, key concerns, and project risks based on WBS codes.
  • Prepare external weekly progress reports highlighting site availability, design delays, third-party hold-ups, and percentage completion.
  • Support BIM integration by contributing to modular planning, fabrication detailing, and construction validation. Ensure materials and assets in the model are construction-ready. Manage and control the change management process.
  • Coach and support junior engineers, playing an active role in their technical and professional development.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Control of Hazardous Energy (COHE) procedures and coordinate LOTO (Lock-Out Tag-Out) activities with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and payment certifications are aligned with the project plan and cost controls.
  • Plan and manage resources across labour, materials, and subcontractors to meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Manage the timely processing of requisitions, purchase orders, and site deliveries.
  • Demonstrate deep technical knowledge of key electrical and mechanical systems including:
    • UPS, STS, EPMS, BMS, Generators, Busbar Systems, and PDUs.
  • Operate effectively within live environments, ensuring uninterrupted client operations during construction phases.
  • Liaise with the client on all live environment activities, including permit approvals, development of RAMS, and coordination of safe working practices.
  • Carry out additional duties as required in line with the evolving needs of the project and business.


Qualification:

  • 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a project management capacity.
  • Previous experience on data centre projects is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and experience with upgrade or refurbishment works in live environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills-both verbal and written, the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership, influencing, and motivational capabilities with a strong sense of integrity.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
