Key Responsibilities of the Role:
Manage Electrical Site Safety and Quality Assurance in conjunction with the project team and Safety Advisor, ensuring all works comply with health and safety guidelines.
Manage project schedules in collaboration with the project team, consulting engineers, and client requirements. Provide accurate reporting to ensure targets and deadlines are achieved.
Oversee all costs associated with electrical packages, ensuring materials and equipment are procured and delivered on schedule. Monitor budgets, forecast costs, and manage change orders.
Manage day-to-day site operations for electrical contractors, tracking progress against schedules and manpower levels. Ensure regular coordination meetings with subcontractors.
Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning and coordination meetings, and handover meetings.
Ensure close-out of all project deliverables, including final accounts, O&M manuals, punch lists, safety files, QA files, third-party inspections, and handover documentation.
Support engineering requirements by coordinating with key stakeholders, including client design teams, main contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
Review drawings and specifications to fully understand project scope. Oversee the coordination process to convert design information into installation drawings via BIM, ensuring compliance and alignment with schedules. Manage RFIs and technical submittals during design development.
Take technical responsibility for quality related to design deliverables, submittals, as-built documentation, and O&M manuals.
Manage quality requirements for all electrical packages on-site, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes, and specifications, including validation and client handover processes.
Define and manage subcontractor scopes of work, including objectives, timelines, and budgets, while operating within commercial constraints.
Assist with tender evaluations and cost analysis of electrical packages.
Report to the Project Manager and Commercial Manager on schedule and cost impacts arising from engineering changes.
Lead and motivate project teams, delegate tasks, and coordinate effectively with engineers, electricians, vendors, and subcontractors.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and performance.
Prepare and issue progress reports, highlighting delays, risks, and issues.
Identify and manage project risks through structured review processes to meet stakeholder expectations.
Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure safe, on-time, and within-budget project delivery.
Develop project execution strategies, particularly in relation to QEHS standards.
Develop and manage project schedules aligned with key milestones.
Coordinate across all trades and disciplines.
Develop and track labour histograms and key project performance indicators.
Manage material procurement schedules in line with project timelines.
Support the selection and appointment of subcontractors and supply chain partners.
Attend client and project management meetings.
Coordinate and develop testing and commissioning procedures.
Ensure compliance with organisational codes of conduct.
Essential Criteria:
Trade qualification and/or relevant third-level qualification
5-10 years' experience in project management
Proven experience managing large-scale installation projects
Experience handling industrial relations issues
Strong knowledge of health and safety practices
Experience in design and build environments
Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
Excellent IT and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Capability to drive and deliver large-scale projects
