Electrical Project Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a major engineering project in Milan. This is a hands-on role supporting the delivery of electrical engineering activities from design through to commissioning and handover.
Working closely with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, you will play a key role in ensuring engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the Senior/Lead Engineer with the delivery of project engineering activities.
• Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage technical submittals, RFIs, equipment schedules, and engineering documentation.
• Prepare technical RFQs and review supplier quotations and submissions.
• Review drawings, BIM models, schematics, and design documentation.
• Support commissioning activities, including FATs, SATs, testing, and handover.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, project specifications, and EHS requirements.
• Identify and manage technical risks and support project reporting.
• Provide technical support to Project Managers and commercial teams where required.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as an Electrical Project Engineer on construction, industrial, pharmaceutical, or data centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, design coordination, and project delivery.
• Experience managing technical documentation, submittals, RFIs, and commissioning activities.
• Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of project risk management.
