We are seeking an experienced CSA Engineer to join a growing engineering and project delivery team working on major data centre projects in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction-focused engineer to develop their career within the fast-growing data centre and mission-critical sector. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) works throughout the project lifecycle, from design coordination and pre-construction through construction, commissioning and final handover.
Working within a multidisciplinary project team, you will collaborate closely with MEP, BIM, QA/QC, commissioning, commercial, planning and project management teams to ensure CSA works are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and in accordance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design Coordination & Pre-Construction
- Review civil, structural and architectural drawings, specifications and design packages.
- Coordinate CSA design information with MEP, BIM and external design teams.
- Review designs for constructability, compliance and coordination with site requirements.
- Raise, manage and close out RFIs, technical queries and design clarifications.
- Coordinate interfaces between CSA works, MEP services, fire stopping, building envelope and underground services.
- Participate in design coordination meetings, BIM reviews and clash detection workshops.
- Support buildability reviews, construction sequencing and programme planning.
- Assist in ensuring design information is complete, coordinated and suitable for construction.
Construction Delivery
- Provide day-to-day engineering support for CSA works throughout the construction phase.
- Monitor CSA activities to ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
- Coordinate with structural steel, concrete, architectural, façade and specialist subcontractors.
- Monitor installation quality, workmanship and material compliance.
- Carry out regular site inspections and identify issues requiring corrective action.
- Work closely with MEP teams to manage interfaces and minimise clashes and delays.
- Support the resolution of technical issues and construction queries.
- Monitor design changes, variations and potential construction risks.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues to minimise rework and programme impact.
- Support temporary works reviews and coordination where required.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure CSA works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, relevant standards and client requirements.
- Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure inspection and testing requirements are met.
- Review quality documentation, inspection records and technical submissions.
- Assist with the identification and close-out of defects, snags and non-conformances.
- Verify that materials and installations meet required technical and quality standards.
- Support internal and project inspections throughout the construction lifecycle.
Commissioning & Handover
- Support CSA activities through commissioning, completion and handover.
- Review as-built drawings and subcontractor documentation.
- Ensure redline drawings, test records, certificates and quality documentation are complete.
- Assist with the preparation and review of project handover documentation.
- Support the close-out of outstanding snags and defects.
- Participate in lessons-learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in CSA engineering, construction engineering or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of civil, structural and architectural construction processes.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, mission-critical or data centre projects.
- Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary interfaces.
- Good understanding of construction sequencing, buildability and site coordination.
- Experience managing RFIs, technical queries and design changes.
- Strong knowledge of construction quality requirements and inspection processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Willingness to work predominantly site-based in Dublin.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience on hyperscale or mission-critical data centre projects.
- Experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor or major engineering contractor.
- Familiarity with BIM coordination and clash detection.
- Experience with BIM 360, Navisworks, Procore or similar digital construction platforms.
- Knowledge of Irish and European construction standards.
- Experience working alongside MEP engineering and commissioning teams.
- Relevant professional membership or progression towards chartership.
