We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to take a leading role on a major infrastructure project in Enfield, involving the delivery of five bridge structures. The project is one-third complete and requires strong management to coordinate a high-volume workforce and ensure works are delivered to the highest safety and quality standards.
This role is suited to a manager with a strong subcontractor background, proven experience overseeing large-scale civil engineering works, and the ability to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee daily construction activities across multiple bridge structures.

  • Manage and coordinate site teams of up to 120 operatives, with a supervisor allocated to each structure.

  • Lead subcontractor management, ensuring delivery in line with programme, budget, and quality requirements.

  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance across site.

  • Chair site meetings and liaise with project stakeholders, engineers, and client representatives.

  • Monitor progress, resolve site issues, and ensure timely reporting to senior management.

  • Support QA processes and drive productivity across all work fronts.

Requirements


  • CSCS card (essential).

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).

  • First Aid at Work certification.

  • Previous experience managing large civil engineering projects, ideally involving bridges or heavy structures.

  • Proven background in subcontractor management.

  • Civil Engineering degree or equivalent desirable but not essential.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
