A leading motorsport organisation is seeking an experienced Composite Process Engineer to join its expanding engineering team. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment and is passionate about advancing composite manufacturing within high-performance racing programmes.


About the Role

Reporting to the Head of the Design Office, you will take responsibility for defining, improving and supporting composite manufacturing processes across advanced motorsport projects. You will play a key role in ensuring production quality, consistency and operational efficiency throughout the build process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed product routings and establish complete manufacturing files.
  • Design tooling required for composite component production.
  • Reverse-engineer prototype parts developed within the workshop to support manufacturing readiness.
  • Produce precise 3D and 2D draping specifications, as well as instructions for clipping, bonding and related processes.
  • Establish and maintain MBOM nomenclatures.
  • Update documentation based on feedback and observations gathered directly from operators.
  • Monitor compliance with manufacturing instructions and provide follow-up with suppliers as needed.
  • Work independently when required, making informed decisions to resolve process and production challenges.
  • Provide support, guidance and technical direction to junior team members within the process and production environment.

Profile & Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within motorsport or high-performance composite manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of composite materials, associated processes and metallic component considerations.
  • Proficient in Catia V5.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to documenting and improving manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of tasks and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
